Midget REP, 2010-2011 (Zurich Minor Hockey)

The Thunder laced up their skates for the last time in the 2010/2011 Season this afternoon for Game 5 in the OMHA Finals, unfortunately I wish I had better news to share.  The Midget played to a very full standing room only crowd in Zurich this afternoon but came up a few goals short at the end of 45 Mins.  It was a hard fought series and a battle to the very end for both teams. The first 15 Mins. saw Manvers get out to a early lead on the score board 3 goals to 0 for Zurich. 

Zurich Midgets are sending this OMHA Midget Finals into Game 5 . Game 3 was hosted by Zurich on Saturday although the Thunder struck first with a goal by Tony Mathonia unassisted there wasn't much else to report for them other than after going down 7-1 their backs were up against the wall for Game 4 on Sunday.

THE THUNDER HOST THE MUSTANGS IN GAME 2 OF THE OMHA FINALS .Great turn out of fans and the Zurich Midgets did not dissapoint.  The Zurich Thunder had a little something to prove to this speedy Manvers Team after a tough 3-1 lose last Sunday. Action packed 1 st period and Zurich was having trouble getting the puck out of their own end if not for the excellent goal tendening by Josh Groot to keep the Thunder in this game early on. Finally at 6:30 Jordan Brand forced the puck up to the blueline and Greg Cooper took it deep into the offensive end with a quick pass out to the point Josh King sent ...

Sorry for the delay in getting these game details on the Web site, my internet has been down since Sat. and it was finally fixed today.  However game 1 was not the out come I was hoping to write about but there is always Game 2 !!

Big Game 5 Win for the Midget this afternoon in  Ayton , it has been a rough series vs. the Normanby Wildcats but the Thunder found a way to WIN when it really counted.  I was hoping I would have good news to share after today's game and I am happy to say I have Great news.  The Midgets are once again WOAA Champions and are heading to the All Ontario Championships to defend their Title, never before has a team from Zurich won two consectutive OMHA Championships back to back.
