Thunder Take The Bark Out Of The Mad Dogs
The Bantam Thunder played their second consecutive strong defensive game, downing the visiting Minto Mad Dogs by a score of 5-1. The whole team played a smart game and backchecked very well. They also stayed diciplined when the Mad Dogs started taking cheap shots near the end of the game. Bryson Volochkov had a career night scoring all 5 goals, Matt Knight-Bedour and Cody Merner each tallied 4 assists, McCallum Bourne, team 'Bull Dozer' Devon Steckle and John Cooke picked up the others. Will Overholt picked up his 14 win of the season in net.
The team just got word this week that the Manver Mustangs eliminated the Brock Wild and now face the Port Carling Thunder in the OMHA semi finals. The Zurich Thunder will wait patiently for the winner, if they can keep up their strong defensive play and hard forecheck and backcheck in league play they will be as prepared as possible for the finals.
