Bantam's Score Two Late Goals To Edge Minto 3-2
Submitted By mmerner on Saturday, March 3, 2012
The Zurich Bantam's won their final WOAA League playoff game in exciting fashion this past week in Harriston. Matt Knight-Bedour set up Bryson Volochkov with 5 minutes remaining to tie the score at 2. Then on the power play with 8 seconds remaining Cody Merner notched the winner with a one timer on a nice set up pass from Knight-Bedour. Will Overholt picked up the win in goal, making some nice saves. It was a nice way to finish their league schedule out. The team will now practice hard to prepare for the OMHA finals against either Manvers or Port Carling beginning in the next couple weeks. Port Carling leads the series 2-1 so far.

With the Zurich organization only capturing 3 Ontario championships in the last 60 + years, this will be an opportunity of a lifetime. Especially since the town will jump up to a higher caliber of hockey nest season. If the team can play up to their potential, with the drive and work ethic they have much of the season it should be a great series.
