Peewee REP, 2010-2011 (Zurich Minor Hockey)

The Zurich Peewee Rep team battled hard but fell short today in their bid for the OMHA Championship after a 3-0 loss to Manvers. Two determined teams exchanged scoring chances throughout the game until Manvers broke the scoreless tie half way through the third period. Then scored another with three minutes remaining and one more into an empty net with one second left in the game. It seemed like which ever team got the right bounce at the right time and scored the first goal would win the game. 

A hard working Zurich Peewee Thunder team battled their way back into the OMHA Final series by downing Manvers 3-0 in front of over 300 home fans today at the Bluewater Community Centre. It was good to see the team back to their normal hard work ethic after a couple of questionable games. Mitch Finlay opened the scoring at the three minute mark of the first period on a pass from John Cooke and Devon Steckle. The Zurich Peewee Rep team is now down two games to none in the OMHA finals after today's tough 3-2 loss in overtime to a hard working Manver's team. The Zurich boys finally came to life in the third period and overtime of game two. This level of intensity and passion will be needed if the kids are expecting to mount a comeback in the series. Mitch Finlay closed the gap to 2-1 before then end of the second period assisted by Tyler Merner and Jacob Laporte. The Zurich Peewee Rep team is headed to the OMHA Championship Finals after defeating a strong Port Carling team 4-3 in front of their home fans at the Bluewater  Community Centre on Monday afternoon. A very determined home team battled hard for the entire game. With several players on the ice with the flu and colds, others out with injuries and sickness, the boys really had to dig deep to pull this one off. Port Carling jumped out to an early lead scoring 3 minutes into the game, Mitch Finlay scored on a breakaway at the 7 minute mark to tie it, Port Carling quickly took the lead back scoring ...

The Zurich Peewee Rep team rattled off a hard fought 2-1 victory over visiting Port Carling in game 3 of the All Ontario Semi-Finals. The game kept the local fans on the edge of their seat most of the game after going down 1-0 part way through the first period before battling back late in the first and early in the second to go ahead 2-1 and did a great job keeping the Port Carling offense in check late in the game to seal the huge victory.
