Peewee Rep Only One Win Away From WOAA Championship
The Zurich Thunder peewee rep team has a chance to win their first WOAA Championship in front of the home crowd if they can knock off the Brussels Bulls in Zurich Friday Jan 28. After a close 3-1 victory in game one, the players stormed back in game two with a decisive 9-1 win in Brussels. The players worked as hard and were as diciplined as they have been all year. Head coach Pete Overholt was very proud of all players for sticking to our game plan for the entire game after a rough / undisiplined first game.
A focused Mitch Finaly scored 8 goals in the two games, other goal scorers were John Cooke, Tyler Merner, Devon Steckle and Connor Brand. Assists went to Cooke with 4, Joey Mathonia with 3, Travis Cressman and Steckle with 2, Jacob LaPorte, Mack Hendrick, Finlay, Merner, and Jake Earle with 1 each. Will Overholt was strong in both games in between the pipes.
