Mildmay Greg Dietz Memorial Tournament CHAMPS
The Zurich Thunder headed to Mildmay this  week-end to play in their annual Greg Dietz Memorial Tournament and came back undeafeated Champions.
Game 1 vs. Woolwich (WIN 3 -1 )
Game 2   vs. Arthur.  (Win 3 -0) chalk up another shut out for Josh.
The Team ended the round robin games in first place overall with 19 points.
The Semi Final Game was against a Team from Lincoln and the Thunder finished them off with a 5 -2 victory which sent them into the Finals vs. the Home town team from Mildmay. It was a very good game and there was no score after 2 periods of play.  Finally mid way through the third Zurich Captain Josh Brideau scored the first goal of the game during a power play opportunity.  Then with only 40 seconds left on the clock Nick LaPorte seized the chance to score an insurance goal in the open net to win the Championship game 2 - 0.
Congratulations to Josh Brideau for receiving the MVP of the tournament award and to our goalie Josh Groot for winning Goal Tender of the tournament.
It was a great week-end of hockey, Groot posting his third shut out of the season and to the Team for continuing their undefeated status at 9 and 0.

Invite everyone out next week-end to Zurich for their next regular season Home Game @ 9pm Sat. Nov.17th vs. the Milverton Drivers.
