Bantam's Rocked By Rebels 9-2
The Zurich Bantam's 14 game winning streak was snapped in unusual fashion being hammered by TCDMA (Tara/Chatsworth) by a score of 9-2 in WOAA group playoff action. Although the team was a little shorthanded, they battled to keep the score tied until late in the second frame when the Rebels proved to be too much and scored 3 before the end of the period to make the score 5-2. Will Overholt made some amazing saves, being faced with at least 30 shots in the first two periods alone. Jeremy Lynn scored a nice tip-in on a shot from Matt Knight-Bedour from the point. Cody Merner scored the other on a pass from Bryson Volochkov.
It was the first game this season with that wide a margin, it was a tough loss with some long faces after and will be interesting to see how the team responds next game. The strong competition will be good preparation for the OMHA playoffs coming up, which still remains the teams #1 goal. TCDMA rides into Zurich Saturday Jan 28 at 7:30pm
