ATOM GIRLS DROUGHT IS OVER .............FIRST WIN
Sorry fans for the delay in bringing you up to date on how the Zurich Thunder atom girls are doing, after losing there 2nd game of the season to a strong Zorra Fusion team 9-1 things were about to change. 

Sorry fans for the delay in bringing you up to date on how the Zurich Thunder atom girls are doing, after losing there 2nd game of the season to a strong Zorra Fusion team 9-1 things were about to change. The lone goal going to Hailee Masse with Ava Overholt picking up the assist. Game 3 of the season was an exhibition game vs South Huron in the Thunderdome, the first period was back and forth both teams with chances, the period ended in a scoreless tie. The Zurich girls came out strong in the 2nd period we opened the scoring on a goal from Hailee Masse assisted by Morgan Ramer & Ava Overholt which would eventually be the game winner, the South Huron team dominated the 3rd period but goaltender Madison Grainger made numerous saves to earn her first career shutout. It was a great team effort and the long awaited drought is over, these girls did not win a game all last season, to be honest were beaten by large margins but never being bothered by it , congratulations Zurich Atom Girls.
Game 4 of the season had Kent County #2 travel to the thunder dome after coming of a huge first ever victory the coaching staff was curious to see how the girls would respond. They did not disappoint pulling off yet another 5-3 win. The fans were buzzing the building was loud the Zurich Atom girls had won 2 games in a row. We opened the scoring early on an unassisted effort by Haillee Masse. After giving up 2 goals in the 2nd period trailing 2-1 going into the 3rd period a determined Zurich team responded with 4 unanswered goals with Rebecca Regier getting her first goal . Ava Overholt notched 2 goals in the 3rd with the 4th goal going to Hailee Masse assists went to Morgan Ramer with 1, Overholt 1, Hailee Brown 1 & Kayla Hoffman 1. It was a strong defensive effort by Sami Regier, Rilee Brown, Miaya Masse& Madison Grainger. Also stellar in net was Sydney Masse.  Great job girls !
