How to Sign Up for your Volunteer Shift:
  • Parents who wish to do so, may create an account on the SignUpGenius website in advance of the initial shift selection. This can be done by visiting SignUpGenius and selecting "Log In" and "New Account".

  • Parents/Guardians will be able to sign up for positions and dates of their choosing on a first come, first serve basis starting on April 12, 2025, at 9:00AM.

  • Once the link is live, a news article will be posted on the www.zurichminorhockey.ca and www.zurichminorbaseball.ca websites and on the Zurich Minor Athletic Association Facebook page. You can access the link under the "Volunteering" tab on both websites. You will need to visit either or both the hockey website and the baseball website to access the correct links for each sport. 

  • Shift lengths will vary from 2-4 hours and duties will be similar to previous years along with the added Bean Dinner this year and NEW Battle of the Bands on Saturday afternoon.
  • Baseball families will need to select a 2 hour shift per family.
  • Hockey families will need to select a 4 hour shift per registered player
  • If a change of shift needs to be made, it is up to the parent/family to find someone to make that switch with. If you have made arrangements to change your shift, please send notification of the change to [email protected] so the schedule can be updated.

Volunteer Job Descriptions:

Baseball Families:

Friday Morning Set Up

  • 8:30am-12:00pm Uptown Tent, Lighting, Fencing, Picnic tables, Beer/Alcohol Pick up.
      **heavy lifting, trucks or trailers needed.
  • 9:00am-12:00pm Arena- Breakfast Set Up- Ice pick up, grocery pick up, Jerry Rader’s, Zehrs.

Friday Night Beanstock- Uptown

  • Clean Up/Runners: walk around tent monitoring crowd, cleaning up cups and cans, assisting with        admission and ticket sales if needed.
  • Drink Ticket Sales- selling drink tickets.
  • Admission- taking admission and placing wrist bands on participants.
  • Bartending: SMART SERVE REQUIRED.

Baseball & Hockey Families:

Saturday Morning Breakfast
  • Griddles- cooking breakfast.
  • Admission.
  • Prep and Serving meal.
  • Breakfast clean up- griddles, tables, packing up.
  • Breakfast Runner volunteer- more ice, more supplies, clear garbage.

Hockey Families:

Saturday Afternoon Beer Tent/Battle of the Bands

  • Clean up and runners.
  • Drink Ticket sales.
  • Bartending: SMART SERVE REQUIRED.

Saturday Afternoon Bean Dinner

  • Set up/Admission.
  • Prep and Serving throughout meal.
  • Clean Up and Runners.

Sunday Morning Clean Up Crew

  • Report to uptown beer tent area to assist with taking down the tent, clean up of the bar area, taking down tables/fencing. Help with the return of beer/alcohol to LCBO and returns to the grocery store. **requires the use of trucks or trailers if possible and heavy lifting.
