A current VSC is required for all ZMAA Bench Staff, including coaches, assistant coaches, trainers, assistant trainers, managers, third-party instructors and on-ice volunteers.
As of 2024, VSCs must be submitted directly to the Ontario Hockey Federation (OHF) for approval. Visit the OHF website for details on how to complete the process: https://www.ohf.on.ca/risk-management/vulnerable-sector-checks-vsc/
For the 2025-2026 season, first check the status of your current VSC on your Spordle account. If your VSC has not yet expired, you will only need to complete the declaration in the OHF Screening Submission Portal. For those who require a new VSC, the first step is to request one directly from the OPP using the OHF Volunteer Letter (download a copy). The form will ask for the following details:
Member - OMHA; Association - Zurich Minor Athletic Association; Level (e.g., U9 LL).
