Thunder & Oilers Battle to 3-3 Tie
It was an exciting, back and forth, crowd pleasing game in Petrolia Saturday afternoon for the Zurich Peewee girls. Both teams were very evenly matched. Lindsay Merner opened the scoring on a rebound of a Ava Overholt shot, passed from Hailee Masse. The Oilers tied it up 40 seconds later. A nice shot from Hailee Masse on a pass from Morgan Ramer put the Thunder ahead 2-1. Again the Oilers responded 2 minutes later to tie the game at 2 and eventually scored another late in the 2nd period to take a 3-2 lead into the third. Miaya Masse tied the game at 3 half way through the third on a hard shot from the point, assisted by Merner and Overholt.
It was great all around game at both ends of the ice for the girls with Cayla Hoffman, Emma Ducharme, Erin Mathers and Sami Regier all having strong games as well. Rilee Brown made several key saves in goal for the Thunder. The girls head to St Thomas tomorrow for their third game of the weekend.
