Thunder Win Big Over Fillies
The Zurich Thunder Peewee Girls travelled to Ridgetown on Saturday and outscored the Kent County Fillies 13-0. It was a fairly lobsided affair and the score could have been much worse, but the Zurich team was classy and respectable not showing up the opposing Fillies after being up 11-0 half way through the game. The girls moved the puck around very well, opening up the ice and worked on their positioning. Morgan Ramer and Emma Ducharme scored big goals for the Thunder. Ava Overholt helped out with a hat trick, Hailee Brown and Hailee Masse had 2, Sami Regier, Cayla Hoffman, Miaya Masse and Erin Mathers scored the others.
Lindsay Merner had 3 assists, Mathers, Hailee Masse and Brown had 2, Miaya Masse, Ducharme, Ramer, Hoffman and Overholt had singles. Rilee Brown recorded her 2nd shutout of the season in between the pipes. Next action for the girls is this Friday night in Z-rock as the Petrolia Oilers come to town.
