Valley Hawks Silence Thunder 2-1 In Game 3
With the Bluewater Community Centre in Zurich almost filled to capacity Saturday afternoon the Creemore Valley Hawks came into town and spoiled what could have been the first ever OMHA title celebration on home ice. The Valley Hawks opened the scoring early on an unfortunate deflection to silence the home crowd. Zurich battled back to knot the score at one part way through the first on a goal from Mitch Finlay assisted by John Cooke. Creemore scored the eventual game winner on a power play goal 3 minutes into the second period on another deflection. This tight checking game saw the bounces go the way of the Valley Hawks with the home team not capitalizing on the opportunities they had. It will be interesting to see how game 4 goes up in Creemore Wednesday night at 7:00pm.

A Creemore player was injured by a skate on an unfortunate accident, he will require surgery to repair nerve damage, but will be ok. We wish him all the best. Many thanks to the unidentified Doctor and Nurse in the stands who helped out until the ambulance arrived.
