Thunder Edge Valley Hawks 2-1 in Game 2
The Zurich Thunder Bantam Rep Club battled back in a hard fought affair to clip the Creemore Valley Hawks 2-1 in game 2 of the OMHA 'D' finals. The Zurich boys came out flat in the first period in Creemore and the home team took it to them scoring on the power play half way through the first period to take a 1-0 lead before Mitch Finlay buried one late in the first on a pass from Travis Cressman to knot the score. After an inspiring chat from head coach Pete Overholt between periods the lads responded with a much better second but could not put any more up on the board. Just when the tight checking game looked like it was headed for overtime Finlay banged home a loose puck at the side of the goal on assists from Cressman and Tyler Merner with one minute remaining in regulation.

The goal sent the Thunder booster club dressed in green St. Patty's day attire into a frenzy. Creemore pressured late, but to no avail. Will Overholt had an outstanding game in goal to hold the Valley Hawks to one. The entire Zurich team showed alot of heart and great effort in this one. Game 3 back in Zurich next Saturday March 23 at 4:00 pm should be a good match.
