Bantam's Up One Game In OMHA Semi-Finals
After only 1 win and 2 losses the month of January, the Zurich Bantam's downed Howick 10-1 in game one of the OMHA semi-finals. There is definitley some rust to shake off if this team wants to take a run at an OMHA championship. This was not the same team that had an outstanding regular season. The want and desire is just not there from several players, some looked like they didn't really care to be there. The Hornets did provide some better competition than they showed in the regular season matches. The score after the second period was only 4-1, with dissappointing efforts from most of the team. On a positive note, the third period was much better and the team looked like they took a step back in the right direction, winning the period 6-0, scoring some pretty goals on nice passing plays. Bryson Volochkov lead the attack with 3 goals and 3 assists, Mitch Finlay with a goal and 4 assists, Cody Merner with 3 goals and an assist, Matt Knight-Bedour and Jarett Oke had a goal and 2 assists, John Cooke with a goal and an assist, Jeremy Lynn, Devon Steckle and Mac Bourne with 2 assists each, and Jake Earle with 1 assist. Kim Hendrick picked up the win in goal.
