Zurich Hammers 'Arch Rival' Brussels 10-0
The Zurich Peewee Rep team took it to Brussels 10-0 to finish there League play with an impressive record of 15 wins, 2 losses and 3 ties. Good enough for a 2nd place finish in the league, behind Blyth. The boys do claim the lowest goals against in the league backstopped by goaltender Will Overholt with a low 2.35 G.A.A. Overholt notched his 7th shutout of the season in this game vs Brussels. Mitch Finlay led the offense with a hat trick to jump his goal total to 58. Other goal scorers were Tyler Merner with two, Devon Steckle, Joey Mathonia, John Cooke, Connor Brand, and Nathan King with one each. Assists went to Cooke with three, Brand, Jacob Laporte, Mathonia, and Merner with one apiece.
The highlight of the game was defenseman Nathan King being moved up to forward in the third period and scoring his first goal of the season by going hard to the net and pounding in a rebound. The team plays one exhibition game against a strong BCH Rep team before beginning the WOAA Finals vs Brussels beginning next Friday Jan 21 in Z rock.
