Instant "written" replay.....
is it possible? Not efficiently and accurately but I'll try to give an instant reply on the last 7 weeks of the Bantam rep team's goings on...
Holy Mackinaw! Forget it, here goes point form highlights instead....
- the official regular season ended on Jan. 12 against BCH in the Hensall Arena with a 6-1 win (nice way to end the season)
- stats at the end of the regular season play were as follows (not including exhibition or tourney games): 10 wins, 5 losses and 1 tie - not too shabby boys and girl or should I say young men and young woman!!!
- during our home-hosted tournament during the Christmas holidays in a very exciting, nail-biting, edge of seat sitting kinda game became the "B" Champions by defeating our arch nemesis "Brussels" - man oh man that was sweet win!!!
- Phil Dietrich became a member of the over 50 club on Dec. 31. The club now consists of 3 members I believe - (unless someone is holding out on their true age). Please feel free to buy one of these members a coffee/hot chocolate as they should really start saving their extra change for retirement!!
- travelled to Port Carling on Jan. 1 for a tournament in the beautiful muskokas! Lowlights being not having the whole team there, a little bit of a snow storm on the way back and not seeing Kurt Russell (sorry Lisa M.)....BUT the highlights being the gorgeous resort, comfy beds and indoor/outdoor pool with outdoor hot tub.
- winning our first playoff game just this past Friday night (Jan. 14) against Brussels in a very close, intense game with a final score of 3-2
- we are now called the Thunder moms who occasionally, during a stressful game, could use the assistance of a "Thunder Mug"!!!
So boys and girl, keep up the dandy work and remember.... in the infamous words of Wayne Gretzky "skate to where the puck is not to where it has been"
