Out of Hibernation......
Just to give a quick update of the Bantam lads (and lady) goings on and then I'm going right back in my cave.  I can honestly say that journalsim/sports writing is a profession that I'm glad I didn't pursue!

So, here goes a short (but sorta sweet) quadruple-game update...yikes again....

Unfortunately the first two games of this quadruple update I was not in attendance thus a very brief synopsis.
November 12 - Zurich hosted Elma Logan and completed the Friday "hockey night in Zurich" with a winning score of 6-3 - yeehaw!
November 14 - took the team to the Port Elgin arena where they suffered a 4-1 loss.  Thinking maybe the long drive made the players dozy and lethargic the way a long car trip makes me feel!!!  Because we did beat this team when they visited Zurich back in October.....

This brings us to Friday, November 19 when we hosted the Milverton Bantams.  With a score of 3-0 after the first period for the home squad, things were looking pretty good.  End of the second period 4-0 score.  However, during the 3rd period Milverton was experiencing a bolt of energy and popped in 3 goals.  My personal highlight of the game was Clare Masse's final goal - a bullet from the blue line in true Bobby Orr style to make it a 6-3 final score.  Penalty minutes were a tad high from the home team and this is with home-town refs!!  So we can truly say that there was definitely no favouritism shown to the home team!  Goaltending was a shared endeavour between McAllister and Hendricks and, as usual, stunning.

On November 24th the team visited the Brussels arena.  Spectacular game to watch from a fan's standpoint - with superb goaltending from both sides occurring.  In fact scoreless game until 2 minutes into the second period when Matt Knight-Bedour scored on a breakaway opportunity.  At the end of the second period the score was 2-1 for Brussels....booooo
After the second period rest Bryson Volochkov came out with super legs and shooting to tie the game up at 2-2.  Unfortunately Brussels' legs were a little more rested as the game ended with a final score of 4-2 for Brussels.  Until we meet again Brussels......
All in all, a good game to watch just an unfortunate outcome for us.

Phew, having said all of that, the teams' overall stats at this point in the season are not too shabby.  Better than the Leaf's and striving to be comparable to our fellow "Canadiens".  That was tough to write for a non-Canadien fan like myself......

REALLY gotta go to bed...
Over and out and back to the cave I go....
